Transition to Wellness Program

This series of workshops is all about recovering your emotional confidence as you start to physically recover from serious illness or are living with chronic illness.

When you are being treated for a serious illness, your whole life revolves around doctors, tests, treatments and side effects. Along the way you lose connection to your body as every part of it is poked, prodded, tested and operated on. Everyone, even strangers, treat you as a patient in crisis.

You need people’s help, but sometimes they mistake helping you for telling you what to do. Plus, sometimes the most helpful people are the least helpful around your raw emotions.

When you are finally on the road to physical recovery,  you start to return to ‘normal’ life. However, you need to regain your emotional confidence. As you feel physically  better a lot of emotions can rise to the surface; grief, loss, relief and excitement. New questions arise:

What happened to my life?’

What do I want now?

What needs to change in my relationships?

How do I manage a transition back to work, without feeling like I need to please everyone else?

The Transition to Wellness workshops  help you regain your emotional confidence and navigate your new ‘normal’.

Practical Strategies

These workshops help you understand and integrate your emotional experiences. You will gain practical strategies to:

  • Understand what has really happened for you, and what is important now.
  • Regain your emotional confidence.
  • Reclaim your autonomy.
  • Re-set  your relationships dynamics, including intimacy.
  • Start enjoying some social activities while prioritising your own self-care.
  • Manage work arrangements.

The Power of Illness Workshop

This workshop is about finding a way to use all the grit, power and vulnerability you developed through treatment to move back into the ‘world’. You will:

> Map your inner resilience that enabled you to face serious illness.

> Identify your ‘Circle of Wellness’.

> Take action on what is important now.

In this highly personalised format, you will have the opportunity to learn directly from Michelle’s experience as well as personal practices to take home.

Regaining Emotional Confidence Workshop

You can often feel powerless when you are first diagnosed with serious or chronic illness. Your whole life has to be adjusted to treatment, medication and monitoring.

When you finally get the all clear, your medical team says ‘Great! See you in six months’ and that is it.

But a lot has changed for you. There are emotional, physical, and social challenges as you transition back to wellness.

This workshop is about reclaiming your personal power. You will gain practical strategies for:

> Understanding the four stages of emotional recovery.

> Understand what you really feel and why.

> Managing your energy and commitments.

In this highly personalised format, you will have the opportunity to learn directly from Michelle’s experience as well as personal practices to take home.

Reclaiming your Voice Workshop

When you have been very unwell, and managing treatment you don’t have a lot of capacity to manage all your relationships as well.

As you start to feel physically better you realise you have lost your voice and sense of power in many areas of your life.

This workshop is about how to get back to you:

> How to say what you want, not just what you need.

> Transition from ‘patient’ in your relationships to equal partner.

> Stop apologising for how you feel and re-establish your confidence.

In this highly personalised format, you will have the opportunity to learn directly from Michelle’s experience as well as personal practices to take home.

Re-Connecting: Dating And Intimacy Workshop

You can lose connection to your body when it has been poked, prodded, tested and even operated on. Side effects including fatigue and chances to your appearance don’t exactly scream sensuality!

However, there are heaps of simple practices you can incorporate into your life, to re-establish firstly your own connection to your body, and then re-connection in dating and intimacy.

This workshop is all re-discovering the beauty of your own sensuality. You will gain practical strategies to:

  • Understand where you disconnect from your body and why.
  • Access the natural beauty of your own femininity.
  •  Simple embodiment practice to reconnect with the gentle feeling of pleasure in your body
  • Authentic communication skills to have difficult conversations without shutting down.

In this highly personalised format, you will have the opportunity to learn from Michelle’s direct experience as well as personal practices to take home.

Self Care and Return to Work

As you physically recover from intensive treatment, you start to manage either returning to work, or increasing your capacity to work.

This workshop is all managing work while you are recovering from serious illness and/or managing chronic illness. You will gain practical strategies for:

  • Prioritising self-care while returning to work
  • Authentic communication skills (managing workplace expectations including the impact of fatigue)
  • Next steps for what you want to do

In this highly personalised format, you will have the opportunity to learn from Michelle’s direct experience as well as personal practices to take home.
